Simulate online the crop production for your greenhouse project

With Hortinergy software, it’s possible to realize a greenhouse crop simulation all over the world.

This tool allows you to resolve one main challenge of growers: how to increase yields while decreasing input’s expenses.

Hortinergy simulates the dry matter production and the amount of CO2 injected according to crop, climate setpoints and regulation parameters.

Hortinergy enables you to find the best combinations to optimize production while minimizing inputs and improving profits.

greenhouse crop simulation

1- Results of crop production for a greenhouse project

The software simulates 3 major significant results for a greenhouse crop simulation:

the dry matter in g/(m². Day) on a daily basis

– by extension the quantity of tomato produced yearly

the quantity of CO2 injected in Ppm / (m².h) on an hourly basis

Greenhouse crop production (2)

2- Method:

The software uses the dry matter weight calculation method including photosynthesis, respiration as well as the translocation of assimilas between sources and sinks of the tomato plant.

The quantity of sugar produced in the chlorophyllic leaves of the plant is calculated based on photosynthesis (PAR, CO2, LAI, crop…) and ambient temperature. Then the dry matter generated is deduced every 24 hours based on the maintenance, growth respirations and of a sugar/dry matter conversion coefficient.

The CO2 injected in the greenhouse is estimated thanks to the set point of the CO2 concentration inside the greenhouse, the quantity of CO2 used by the plant and the air infiltrations. The set point of the CO2 concentration in the greenhouse is based on solar radiation and position of the openings.

3- Input parameters :

The following input parameters are implemented to perform calculation:

–  Crop: type, cultivation dates…

–  CO2:  concentration target settings, starting /ending date, minimum solar radiation…

4- Output parameters :

At the end we obtain:

–  Dry matter of the tomato

–  The consumption of CO²

Moreover, Hortinergy is able to realize a greenhouse crop simulation, simulate screens, semi-closed greenhouse, energy consumption, sustainability, cannabis greenhouse, supplemental lighting, and calculate carbon tax rebates.

Hortinergy is an online software. You can choose your pack, create an account and start your project.

Hortinergy has been developed by Agrithermic in partnership with the CTIFL (French Interprofessional Technical Centre for Fruits and Vegetables) and Astredhor (Horticultural technology institute), Agrocampus Ouest and the agricultural high school of La Cote saint André (CFPPA).
